Why COVID-19 test is obligatory for foreign citizens in Russia?
According to the Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary officer of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens are required to present a document confirming negative COVID-19 test result on the day of arrival into the Russian Federation. Document should be dated no earlier than 3 calendar days before the arrival into the Russian Federation.
In case such medical document is missing, foreign citizens are obliged to take PCR COVID-19 test within
3 calendar days after the arrival at the territory of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation No. 18 of July 7, 2020, citizens of the Russian Federation must undergo PCR testing for COVID-19 within 3 calendar days from the date of their return to Russia Foreign citizens entering Russia must present a medical certificate with a negative test result for coronavirus, received no earlier than 3 calendar days before their arrival in Russia
In absence of a medical certificate, foreign citizens must undergo PCR testing for COVID-19 within 3 calendar days on the territory of the Russian Federation

Biomaterial: oropharyngeal swab (sampling the biological material is to be paid separately).
Identifies: contagiousness.
Result format: qualitative (detected / not detected).
What a positive result means: the virus has been detected in the upper respiratory tract, the person is a danger to others.
Testing duration: 1 day or 2 days. Cost varies accordingly.

- Where can I get tested?
The tests can be taken in Gemotest laboratories and at home. Please note that the tests are not available in all branches. On this page, under each test there is a link to the map. Use it to find the address and business hours of different branches.

How do I get the test results?
You will receive a form of research results in Russian and a certificate with a unique QR code that will confirm its authenticity. The certificate is issued in both Russian and English.
Documents are sent to your e-mail address automatically. You can also download your test result on our web site using order number and your date of birth.

You will need your passport for testing.
- What should I do in case of a positive result?
If you are tested positive, you should be isolated at the place of residence until full recovery and until your next COVID-19 test results are negative.
